Early start

On the road again
Monkey Bay

The most common forms of transport - bicycles and heads.

Left at 8am on the dot this morning.
Farewell to the magic of Fat Monkeys - our wake up sunrise.

Bush Baby is pushing a bit as she doesn't like the dodgy fuel here. As there is a Land Rover dealer in Lilongwe Ian and I deviated to Lilongwe at Salima ( about 280km round trip) to see if they can sort out the hiccups. A word of advice Land Rover Lilongwe has NO spare parts not even a filter of any sort or description. Furthermore we were directed to another garage who MAY be able to help us. After sitting around for some time we decided to try the fuel filter which we had brought with us from SA. Voila all systems go and we were on the way back to meet up with our fellow travellers at Kande Bay. When trying to fill up with diesel in Lilongwe we found out why there were so many trucks parked off - there was no diesel and had not been for a week. We alerted our fellow travellers to seek out fuel. We had sufficient at least to get back to Kande Bay and probably fairly well into tomorrow. We finally arrived at Kande Bay Camp at 19H30 just in time to get a quick bite to eat at the camp restaurant. We had travelled 614 kms that day and felt we deserved a night off from cooking. Weather continues to be glorious.
